iPhone Waiters

by Jacob Pang on 6/25/2007

You know the world has either truly fallen in love or gone mad when people are willing to pay US$250 for someone to wait in line for them to buy an iPhone on Day 1. Reports on craigslist has surfaced with such iPhones waiting service.

Although nothing new to most of us since we know time = money, it is interesting to note that the PS3 launch in Japan resulted in a similar affair with almost the entire queue filled up with overseas Chinese whom were paid a certain sum for their time in the line to buy a set. All in the hopes by a few entrepreneurs hoping to make a quick buck by flipping those new sets on Ebay. Funny the PS3 has since lost most of its luster.

I expect a heyday on launchday just about everywhere on the net, from Ebay to craigslist, Apple Store, Amazon and all the usual suspects. It is a good thing I would be overseas in the land of the unconnected, so I will not be able to hear first hand reports of the madness befallen to us.
