A month long festival of Football has finally come to a close with Italy winning their 4th World Cup. I can't wait for the next one in South Africa. If I was a betting man, the World Cup is often a competition which favors the incumbent. Over a stretch of 18 tournamens from 1930s on, there has only being 7 winners. Considering for a fact that there were something like 180-190 countries who sign up to play and qualifiers starting just about as soon as the last game is played; only 7 nations have make the Cup their own with the newest entry being France is 1998.
This world cup featured all past 7 winners in the Top 16 further enforcing the fact that to win the World Cup, you need much more than Lady Luck to win it all. Kind of like a new startup
